“Outlander” Star Sam Heughan Talks Testicles In New Cancer Awareness PSA

There's nothing like a thick Scottish accent to put you at ease.

Beautiful Scot Sam Heughan is encouraging dudes to feel themselves in a new PSA for Cahonas Scotland, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness for testicular cancer and teaching guys how to self-check at home.

The Outlander star lends his thick accent to the funny and informative spot, which employs a giddy-looking “pair of best friends” to show the proper technique to screen for abnormalities.
The ad’s description reads: “Get to know how your balls look and feel normally with a regular self-check. A simple, quick monthly check is a great way of detecting any changes, and possible early signs of testicular cancer.”

“In the UK, over 2000 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer each year; that’s around six men every day. It can develop in males of any age, but is the most common cancer in men aged 15-49,” Heughan says. “If detected early, over 96% of men diagnosed with testicular cancer are cured.”

And if you need a more realistic ball to grasp the concept more firmly, you can always check out the loads of videos where actual athletes check their actual testicles on television (yes, this is a thing).
