 Several time a year, a story takes off and instantaneously connects with our readership, inspiring a seemingly endless outpouring of commentary, and making the rounds for days or sometimes even weeks at a time.

While it’s often abundantly clear why a story managed to captivate your attention — the fact that you enjoyed “U.S. Supreme Court Rules For Nationwide marriage equality,” for example, wasn’t exactly a shocker — on other occasions, we’ll be pleasantly surprised to find a story takes on a surprisingly life of its own. (The story of how one family decided to deal with homophobic graffiti, for example.)

Monday, September 28, 2015 — Four Michigan men were arrested on felony charges after having sex with a teen boy they met at church on Grindr. The four accused met the boy independently, and the teen was only 15 at the time.
