Taking on Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation” is no small task, and for a split second we cringed as the cameras focused on a mostly silhouetted Jospeh Gordon-Levitt as he began mouthing the words of the Utopian opening monologue on Lip Sync Battle.
But then we saw a flash of ruby red lipstick and our fears were somehow assuaged.
And when he starts the choreography, we may have passed out for a split second.
While Gordon-Levitt is no stranger to lip syncing for his life (he gave two rousing performances with Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago), his tribute to Janet’s classic is nothing short of brilliance.
