Prince will forever be remembered as a suave ladies’ man, but we can add at least one man to his long list of conquests if we’re to believe Boy George.
The Culture Club front man claimed he’s slept with Prince during a taping of The Voice UK recently, and the live studio audience went so wild that it forced production to halt until everyone regained their composure.
“[It] sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming,” an insider told The Sun.
Boy George and fellow Voice judge Paloma Faith were going back-and-forth in a name-dropping competition when George let the salacious tidbit slide. According to sources at the taping, it went a little something like this:
Boy George: “I have dueted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.”
Paloma Faith: “Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”
Boy George: “Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.”
“We just couldn’t believe what he had come out with — and the guys in the gallery were beside themselves,” a production source said. “The crowd went absolutely wild because they thought they had just witnessed a massive celebrity exclusive. The other judges thought it was brilliant, particularly Will.i.am — he kept coming up to Boy George and high-fiving him, which just set the crowd off again.”
The revelation became a huge concern for producers, who apparently went on stage to “speak to” Boy George after he made the claim.
Boy George tried to backtrack, saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince, but the production source adds, “as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”
