The X-Files
Airing on Fox from September 10, 1993 – May 19, 2002, The X-Files was one of the iconic shows of the decade, making stars of David Duchovony and Gillian Anderson, and bringing us that theme song, by Mark Snow, with it’s unforgettable whistle. According to Wikipedia, “The theme song’s famous whistle effect was inspired by the track “How Soon Is Now?” from The Smiths’ 1985 album Meat Is Murder.”
