The Torkelsons
Airing on NBC from September 21, 1991 – June 6, 1993, The Torkelsons was about a single mom struggling to raise a brood, who takes in an older boarder to make things meet. The theme song “A New Day Promises” was performed by The Judds.
After one season, the show was completely retooled, dropping the middle daughter, adding Jason Marsden, Brittany Murphy, Perry King, and renamed Almost Home. The second attempt was canceled after one season. The new theme song “Almost Home” was performed by Jennifer Warnes, and believe it or not, Joey Scarbury
