Casey Donovan starred in one of the most iconic gay adult films of all time, 1971’s Boys In The Sand, and went on to appear in numerous x-rated films for the next decade.

But he also branched out into the more mainstream (albeit still softcore) fare Score and Ginger, but had his greatest mainstream success on stage. In 1972 he starred in the Broadway revival of Captain Brassbound’s Conversion with Ingrid Bergman, who described him as “having the same kind and as much charisma as Robert Redford.”

Other stage performances include The Merchant Of Venice and producing and starring in the 1983 Broadway revival of The Ritz.
