August 30th is National Grief Awareness Day

It's with much gratitude I am able to announce we have officially declared a National Grief Awareness Day. When I reflect on our journey thus far, I remember my mother and am able to honor her as someone who grieved in silence her entire life. The awareness date is her birthday and her legacy will be honored even after I am gone. As someone who has experienced loss most of my life, I can say it is past time we bring grief out of the dark and into the light. Many grievers live in complete silence, misunderstood, alone, and broken.

On this day we will educate society about the myths, cliches, and the stigma surrounding grief.
Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to make sure that all who are grieving receive the support they need.
