Good Bye Michael Johns!

April 11, 2008
From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
Good Bye Michael Johns, you were my favorite this season. I will still watch, but the season will not be the same.

Michael Johns (born 20 October 1978 as Michael John Lee) is an Australian singer-songwriter who finished in eighth place on the seventh season of a United States television series, American Idol, in 2008.

Johns was born Michael John Lee in Perth, Western Australia. As a teenager, Michael John Lee appeared as The Coachman in Pinocchio at the Regal Theatre and was a choir singer in Anything Goes at His Majesty’s Theatre.

Johns attended Newman College in Perth. In 1997, when he was eighteen, he moved to the United States on a tennis scholarship and majored in drama at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton before dropping out after two quarters. He also briefly played Australian rules football for the USAFL club Atlanta Kookaburras in 2001-2002.

Johns moved from Tifton to Atlanta to pursue a music career, playing cover gigs.  He then joined a band called Film that folded after 18 months. After traveling to Los Angeles to showcase for a number of labels, he was signed to Maverick Records in 2002 as a solo artist under his birth name Michael Lee. He recorded an album, and then formed a rock band around him, called The Rising. The album was "Future Unknown", and a few of the tracks received some minimal airplay on radio. The album was released on iTunes after he was on American Idol. After Maverick, he was signed to Columbia, but was later dropped. He started using the name Michael Johns in 2006 as homage to his stepfather whose name, like his middle name, is John, hence "Johns" because there are two of them in the family.

He auditioned for American Idol Season 7 at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium in July 2007. He finished eighth place in the Season 7 competition.

Following the show, he performed on the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008. Johns worked on the soundtrack for Shaun White's documentary DVD Don't Look Down, released by Three Rings Projects, while he was on the Idol tour. The album released features Johns singing all but one track, along with Rye Randa and Jeff Foxworth. Released on 1 January 2009 by Three Rings Project it consists of 17 songs, 10 of which are vocal.

He released a song, "Another Christmas," in December 2008, which he penned in 2006 when circumstances kept him from returning to his native Australia for Christmas. Half the proceeds from the song were advertised as going to the Red Cross and MDA's ALS division. In 2009, he released a digital download single called "Heart on my Sleeve" and an album titled Hold back my Heart, which sold 20,000 copies.

He released an EP Love and Sex, including thee songs, in 2012.

THE AMATEUR HOUR:

ITALIANS DO IT BETTER
From: Manhunt Daily
You know how they say that Italians Do It Better? Or I guess it was less of a saying and more of a t-shirt that Madonna wore once? Anyway, it applies here!

This is XTube user jak’. He lives in that fine boot-shaped nation, and he has occupied the greater part of my morning. Mostly his dick. Well, and the hand that’s jerking the dick. And the legs. And so on.

He’s only been posting his jerkoff videos for the past two weeks, but he’s really good at it! In the first
video, he shoots enough cream to fill a cannoli.
In the second one, we get to admire the shape of his meaty Italian sausage. And in the most recent clip, he shoots a big load in his hand and then says something to the camera that sounds very, very seductive. I don’t speak the language, but I’m guessing it probably translates roughly into “Hey, look, I just came on my hand.” Also oddly endearing: the part where he spits in his hand but misses.

Click through for more of jak’‘s hairy legs, hairier bush, and uncut cock. In the meantime, I’ll be hoping he finds an equally attractive friend to shoot an action scene with.

Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace

From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
I haven't watched the wedding, in fact, I haven't watched at all in a while. I know Chandler Massey lost his oomph near the end, but during the early stages of his emotional acceptance, there was a raw vulnerability and magic in his portrayal that pulled me in. The magic is gone and for now, so am I.

HOT OR NOT?

PDA
From: Manhunt Daily
How do you feel about public displays of affection? Before we continue, I should make it clear that I'm not talking about public sex. PDA is considerably lighter, from holding hands to grabbing your partner's butt. It usually occurs with your pants on (provided you don't live in a nudist colony).

I come to ask this question after encountering a young heterosexual couple holding one another on the train. The guy was kissing and nuzzling his girlfriend's neck, and I became inexplicably infuriated by this. I mean, there I was minding my business, and they feel a need to express their love all up in my face. The nerve of them!

And then I stopped to think how hypocritical I was being. As wrong as it is, I totally would have been cheering for that couple if they had been two men or two women. I'd say in my head, "Work it out! I admire your courage among a public who may not embrace your affection." Instead, I was left thinking, "How could you publicly flaunt your relationship in a world where everyone doesn't have that right?"

I've been there too. When I first started dating my ex-boyfriend, he'd grab my hand and hold it. This wasn't something I was accustomed to, so I immediately withdrew myself. He accused me of having a bout of internalized homophobia. Since I wasn't having that sort of criticism, I held his hand to prove him wrong. Suddenly, I felt empowered. Hand-holding became more exciting than handjobs, because I felt like I was making a social and political statement about who I loved.

Considering all the stuff I blabbed about, it isn't likely that the answer to this question is a simple "hot" or "not". It's obviously more complicated than that. Hopefully, this post will open up a discussion on how you feel about engaging in PDA and how you feel when others do so. Discuss!

JUDE LAW’S IN “DOM HEMINGWAY”

David Jude Heyworth Law (born 29 December 1972), known professionally as Jude Law, is an English actor, film producer and director.

He began acting with the National Youth Music Theatre in 1987, and had his first television role in 1989. After starring in films directed by Andrew Niccol, Clint Eastwood and David Cronenberg, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1999 for his performance in Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr. Ripley. In 2000 he won a Best Supporting Actor BAFTA Award for his work in the film. In 2003, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in another Minghella film, Cold Mountain. He is also known for his role as Dr. John Watson in the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes and its 2011 sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

In 2006, he was ranked as one of the top ten most bankable film stars in Hollywood. In 2007, he received an Honorary César and was named a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. He was a member of the main competition jury at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

Dom Hemingway is a 2013 British black comedy–crime drama film directed and written by Richard Shepard. The film stars Jude Law, Richard E. Grant, Demián Bichir, Emilia Clarke, Jumayn Hunter, Mădălina Diana Ghenea, and Kerry Condon. It was shown at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.

 Plot
Dom Hemingway (Jude Law) is a larger-than-life safecracker with a loose fuse, funny, profane, and dangerous. Back on the streets of London after twelve years in prison, it's time to collect what he's owed for keeping his mouth shut.

Travelling with his devoted best friend Dickie (Richard E. Grant), Dom visits his crime boss Mr Fontaine (Demián Bichir) in the south of France to claim his reward. But Dom's drunk and drug-fueled ego decides what he’s lost can’t be replaced. One car accident and a femme fatale later, Dom realises his priority must be to reconnect with his long-lost daughter Evelyn (Emilia Clarke).

Remember how excited I was about those pictures of Jude Law with weird facial hair, looking all doughy and hot in a pair of short yellow swim trunks? They were likely taken when he was filming Dom Hemingway. The flick, which premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, will soon be making its way to theaters, and the trailer shows off the bare butt that 58.4% of you said you’d shove your dicks in.

I’ve made peace with the fact that I am probably the only gay man on Earth who thinks Jude looks hotter here than he’s ever looked before, so feel free to make dumb comments about how he’d look hotter if he shaved or lost twenty pounds. I’ll be over here casually touching myself and imagining what it’d be like to bury my face in that fine ass.
