The Normal Heart and Matt Bomer win Critics' Choice TV Awards

HBO's The Normal Heart, the long-awaited movie version of Larry Kramer's acclaimed play, was a big winner at the Critics' Choice TV Awards on Thursday (19 June).

The film about the early days of the AIDS crisis in New York City won the award for Best Movie over An Adventure in Space and Time, Burton and Taylor, Killing Kennedy, Sherlock: His Last Vow, and The Trip to Bountiful.

Matt Bomer, who played a New York Times reporter dying of the disease, took the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series or Movie.
