Texas Governor Rick Perry has been mocked and criticized for his recent comments comparing homosexuality to alcoholism.
But leave it to The Daily Show's Jon Stewart to really tell Perry what's what.
'You know what’s sad? Being gay is not a choice, but being a Texas Republican is,' Stewart said.
'So my advice is the next time you feel the urge to be a Texas Republican, to replace science textbooks with pictures of humans riding dinosaurs, or ban same-sex marriage, or put on (a GOP elephant hat), shit in a jar and sniff it. It won’t cure you, the science proves that. But do it anyway. Hopefully it’ll remind you of what assholes you’re being.'
The feces in jar remark was a swipe at the Texas Republican Party's recent endorsement of gay 'reparative' therapy in their party platform. Once such 'ex-gay' therapy technique has included a therapist once ordering a gay man to bottle his feces and to sniff it whenever he was attracted to a man.
