June 4th is National Tailors Day

Do you have a tailor? If not, you may want to consider finding and using one. Tailoring a quality piece of clothing to fit once again can be a lot less expensive than buying a new outfit. And it's better for the environment, too.

The first Wednesday in June is "National Tailor's Day." It's a day to show your appreciation for the tailor you already have or the perfect day to find a new one.

Just for fun, here are some tailoring terms you may not be familiar with:

* Gorge: The point where the collar is attached to the lapel

* Baste: Sewing a garment loosely to assemble

* Scye: The armhole

* Bespoke: Made to a customer's specific requirements
