May 25th is Nerd Pride Day or Geek Pride Day

What do Steve Jobs, Twitter, and an epic battle between Star Wars and Star Trek have in common? Well, they are all on the minds of nerds. With May 25th being Nerd Pride Day, we thought it appropriate to design some wallpapers that reflect the true essence of what life really boils down to when you are in front of code all day wearing a headset. So, nerds everywhere unite! Let your syntax run free and may all your "if" statements end with a "then"!

Geek Pride Day (Spanish: Día del orgullo friki ) is an initiative to promote geek culture, celebrated annually on May 25. The date was chosen as to commemorate the 1977 release of Star Wars, but shares the same date as two other similar fan "holidays": Towel Day, for fans of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams, and the Glorious 25th of May for fans of Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

The initiative originated in Spain in 2006 as "Día del Orgullo Friki" and spread around the world via the Internet.
