Chris Pine And His Beard: A Love Story

Hollywood is full of beards, of both the facial and Travolta variety. But more and more, stars are keeping it scruffy — case in point actor Chris Pine. In a recent interview with Allure, the new face of Armani Code spoke of his love of a chin strap.

“I really like the ritual of shaving,” Pine said. “I like getting the perfect brush and finding the right sandalwood soap. The act of shaving, though, is not fun. I like beards and the ease of them.”

GBFF Zachary Quinto can probably sympathize, though he officially shaved his beard ages ago.

Pine may also just be going for a Wookie look — if Trekkies will forgive the Star Warsreference — since he likes to keep that handsome face as bushy as possible. You really don’t want to get between this man and his eyebrows:

“When I first started out, everyone thought they were too much. In my first job, they dyed them. Then another tried to pluck them, and that looked awful. Now I won’t let them touch my eyebrow.”

Sure he may be entering Brooke Shields territory, but a strong brow — and a sturdy beard — is a joy year round.
