The first Knights of Columbus charter was granted in 1882 by the state of Connecticut. This Catholic and family fraternal service organization has grown into a volunteer force of Knights and family members totaling nearly six million who annually donate tens of millions of dollars and volunteer hours to countless charitable projects.
