March 21st is Brain Injury Awareness Day

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) and our network of state affiliates, including self-advocates, families and volunteers across the nation, will mark Brain Injury Awareness Month this March. A brain injury can happen anytime, anywhere, to anyone – a brain injury does not discriminate. In fact, 2.4 million Americans sustain a brain injury each year. Early and equal access to care for all is our goal. We will be sharing with you ideas on how to promote brain injury awareness in your community.

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA), along with our champions on Capitol Hill, Congressional Brain Injury Task Force co-chairs Reps. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-N.J.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.), is pleased to announce that Brain Injury Awareness Day will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014. BIAA is committed to helping the Brain Injury Task Force plan a successful event.

As in past years, the event will include a Brain Injury Awareness Fair in the morning, a Congressional briefing in the afternoon, and an evening reception. All are welcome to attend the Brain Injury Awareness Day events!
