Jay, thanks so much for speaking with me. It’s no secret that you’re one of Randy Blue’s hottest stars. What made you decide to get into the adult industry?
Well, thank you for saying that! Thank you very much. I have a very close friend that’s in the industry, and she had been suggesting it to me for a while. I was working long hours at a gym, not even having time to work out at the gym as much as I used to. She convinced me to open a profile on sexyjobs.com, and I immediately got contacted by a few agents. I spoke to one of them over the phone, and I liked him. (I go with my gut a lot when I make decisions.)
He asked me for some pictures, and I got a photographer friend to take them for me; within a few weeks, I was told I had a meeting with Randy Blue.
The meeting went really well, and he told me I could start making money camming until they were able to use me. I literally started making money within the next two days! I was very surprised how the community on the site was so accepting of me. Within a few days of starting, I was told I had a solo scene scheduled. So, it happened very fast.
You get quick action, don’t you?
I was surprised. I wasn't in great shape even though I was working at a gym. I had been in much better shape, but it went well for me, somehow. Since I quit my job at the gym, now I have more time to work out and take care of myself.
How has it been working with Randy Blue?
Randy himself is just a great guy. He’s got a lot going on, but whenever I send him a text with a question, he answers me right away. And he’s nice about it! Working with everyone else, like the photo shoots and the scenes, has been cool. The director—he calls himself Evil Jeff—I absolutely love him. He’s a joy to work with. He’s very professional, and what is REALLY important to me is that I can tell that he is considerate of the model and how the model is feeling.
That’s good. I had a feeling he really made you feel at ease with your scorching solo scene.
Haha! Yeah, he did. The job needs to get done, but he never had that attitude with me. Like I said, he’s very considerate, and that really gets the job done well. You’re in a very well-lit room with lights and people standing around with cameras, so I’m grateful that he’s that good at what he does and how in tune he is with the models.
I think I recall you mentioning you were from Florida. Are you Afro-Caribbean by chance?
Yes, my friend. My family is Belizean. I don’t talk about that much, because some people look at me and say, “What are you? You’re not Black. You’re mixed with something.”… Which I think is just dumb. We’re all mixed with something. Doesn't mean I’m not Black.
So far you've done two scenes with Randy Blue—your solo and your hardcore duo with Lance Luciano. Was your duo as easy to shoot as your solo?
The duo with Lance was good. It wasn't hard except for the dicks involved! He was a joy. Very nice guy. I also did a third scene at the beginning of December, and I think it should be out by the end of this month.

So let’s talk about Jay Landford when the cameras go off. Tell us more about you. What you like, what you do, etc.
I’m a Leo. I’m single, creative and sensitive. I’m a romantic, but I’m tough when I need to be. I’m a dreamer. I’m a singer/songwriter. I cook everyday and eat every three to four hours. I’m always learning more and more about fitness and nutrition. I value people more than things. And I feel I have a duty to do good work in this industry, realizing that porn has a direct influence on our community. Not just our community, but what we perceive as hot and sexy and even beautiful. It’s a shame there’s so much racism within the gay community.
Let’s talk a bit more about that. Yes, there’s racism in the gay community—no denying that. Do you think porn helps contribute to that in any way?
Unfortunately, I feel that the production of cheap and less than flattering pornographic images of Black men in the industry does contribute to that. There are companies out there that want in on the gay market, and they may have absolutely no creative insight or idea of what is beautiful or sexy. Or they may not give a shit, because these are companies ran by straight White men. I’ve seen it. So they make crap, package it, post it, and make their money. They have the means and resources, but they don’t have the vision—it’s all about making the money. But, also, some of the larger adult companies have the means to feature beautiful Black men but choose not to do so.
Was this why you decided to choose Randy Blue? Because they are more diverse in who they feature?
I knew about the site, and I already knew they were more diverse than the other sites, so I loved that. I didn’t ask him to contact anyone else. I was excited about it.
What kind of guys get Jay Landford’s dick hard? From what I can tell, the chemistry definitely has to be there with you in order to really make an amazing scene.

What’s one thing that your fans would be surprised to know about you?
I’m a singer/songwriter. It’s always been a dream of mine. I even did a demo in my early twenties. Music will always be a part of me, and I still don’t see it as a lost dream. I believe that even though I’m in the porn industry, I can find a way to still share my music in the future. Everyone has their own path. Nothing is impossible. Just because I’m doing this, doesn't mean I can’t do that.
