I’ve always thought the last day of the old year and the first of the new were kind of sad days. The 31st with its parties that often feel more or less forced, with mountain high expectations as if it was the last day of our lives. And the 1st of January, often grey and silent, with no promises and nothing to look forward to. It took me some time to realize that there is more to this change of years. If you think about it, it really is nothing more than the passing of time. It happens every day. But because on this particular day we pass not only day and month but also year, it is by definition the moment to take a little pause in our often very busy lives.
A moment to stand still and look back to what has happened in the time between today and the last 31st of December. The good things and the bad things. To think about where you were in your life 12 months ago and where you are now. And most likely realize that where you are now was nothing you could have imagined before. And while we are standing still and make the annual inventory of our lives, we also think of all those people who crossed our paths and, simply by being there, made a change. If I look back on the past 12 months of BeautifulMag I truly believe we never featured so many new talents. For us it has been a most inspiring year. Personal obligations also forced us to approach things differently and even though you, our readers, have probably not noticed any of that, those who worked with us have. And so we want to thank you.
We want to thank all those wonderful models, too many to mention here, who with their never ending enthusiasm and motivation time and time again offer us a small dream. A little fantasy in a world that is often too much of a reality. We also thank all those exceptional photographers. Thank them for their talent and the work they so freely share with us. And thank them for their patience. We listed all who participated in 2013 below and are proud of the long list. Proud of the many new names, some of those coming from corners of the world we never explored before when it came to male photography. You have become friends and we hope to see more of you in the future. Of course we also thank our sponsors and partners who are key to the success of BeautifulMag. And finally we want to thank you, our readers and loyal followers. Wherever you are our incredible world, it is for you that we do this job. Your comments inspire us.
