 Thanks to COLT‘s Icon series and my own propensity to jizz over hairy men, the Flashback Friday series was dominated by muscle bears and hirsute daddy types this year. Subjects like Steve Kelso, Chad Douglas, Bruno and Carl Hardwick proved that lusting after mustaches isn't a thing of the past, while guys like Dick Wolf, Colton Ford and James Hamilton showed us that you don’t have to go back to the ’70s or ’80s for decent masturbatory memories.

Moving forward in 2014, I’d love to make a conscious effort to bring you Flashback Friday at the end of every week, but you know, it’s easy to say things like that and neglect to deliver when there are 40,000 other semi-urgent things to write about. For now, why don’t you just enjoy the best ol’ school throwbacks we did this year? We’ll figure out the rest later.

 Yikes! I’ve really been slacking off on the Flashback Friday series. While there’s probably nothing I could say to make it up to all you retro porn enthusiasts out there, I’d like to at least try to serve up a peace offering in the form of scruffy, handsome blond Tom Hartung. This spread, entitled “Fire Island Memories”, appeared in a August 1990 issue of Honcho magazine, though the photos were originally taken by Target Studio in 1980.
