Tony Curtis 

(1925—2010) 

A constant presence on the scene beginning with his earliest '50s films, this Jewish godling with the fake Italian name was simultaneously adorable and the epitome of "going Hollywood." There was a larger-than-life air about him that went well with his comedic roles (you know the main one I'm thinking of) but that often butted heads with his efforts in the drama department ("Yonda lies da castle of my fodda!" is an urban legend, but was invented as a reaction to his perceived lack of polish and chops). Still, he was so fine you just wanted to polish him and put him in a curio cabinet to show off for all your friends. Became remarkably flamboyant in his later years despite fairly believable protestations that he was only into pussy.
