Not many Oscar winners on my list of 100, but Christian Bale avoided being boxed in as a pretty boy even after breaking into movies as, literally a pretty boy, by carefully selecting roles that would at times challenge our perception of him as a hero or as a sex object. Even his sexiest role came with a major caveat—who's looked hotter than Bale in American Psycho, and yet...there's all that blood. As a bonus, he's one of those guys who looks perfect all cleaned up or scruffy. Or covered in red corpuscles.
