This clipping from the ‘Daily News’ in Bowling Green, Kentucky was one of many local papers to run the syndicated Ann Landers advice column on Thursday, 9 September 1976. The perturbed reader, going by the name ‘On The Sidelines’, is totally puzzled as to why homosexuals are calling themselves ‘gay’ back in those days, especially since her gay brother seemed utterly miserable.
