MARK TAKANO
Congressman
Mark Allan Takano (born December 10, 1960) is an American teacher and politician from California. A member of the Democratic Party, Takano has served on the Riverside Community College Board of Trustees since 1990.
In November 2012, Takano was elected to the United States House of Representatives, defeating John Tavaglione in the general election. Upon taking office, Takano became the first non-white openly gay member of Congress.
