 Janet Gaynor's on-screen romantic partner was easily one of the handsomest in silent movies, with a face any sculptor would admire, broad shoulders and an  insinuating grin. He was so hot that he, of course, had to be one of the first male stars to appear in a nude scene—he did it in The River (1929) (below), a film that is considered "partially lost." I partially lose it any time I see stills from that one myself.
