"I’m probably encroaching on Nic’s territory here, but I couldn't resist writing about the latest cut released by Cody Belew. If you’re not familiar with Belew, he was one of the standouts from the third season of The Voice. Not only is he talented and cute, but I think he’s also a sista. Gotta love a gay pop singer. Watch out Adam Lambert, you've gots some competition ;)
“You Make Me Wanna” is a far glitzier track than his country-sounding debut single “Baby Get Out.” It’s more in line with the musical direction Cee Lo Green paved for him during his stint on the NBC show. For me, his best performances were when he gay’d it out on Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” and Queen’s “Somebody To Love.” Perhaps it’s the cover art, but I get a Scissor Sisters kinda vibe from the track.
