Though it's been said, many times, many ways, Clooney (who more closely resembles Clark Gable) really is like our Cary Grant, both for his handsomeness as he's aged (he didn't really make an impact in films  until he was a full-fledged adult man, unlike Grant) and his easy, charming demeanor in all of his features. I think Clooney has unarguably stretched himself as an actor far more than Grant ever wanted to do or did, and that, along with the former's intellect and sarcasm, only enhances the appeal of his physical comeliness. What I mean to say is: He's smart and sexy and so is overall just plain hot.
