WET

DO YOU KNOW THAT FEELING OF BEING BORN IN THE WRONG PLACE? OF THINKING THAT YOU WERE MEANT TO BE BORN IN A PLACE WARMER AND SUNNIER THAN WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW? UNFORTUNATELY IT ISN'T SOMETHING WE CAN CHANGE. SURE WE CAN RELOCATE, BUT WHAT IS MEANT TO BE IS MEANT TO BE. IF YOU ARE BORN IN A PLACE KNOWN FOR IT'S WET WEATHER, GUARANTEED YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE – WELL – WET…

Andrew Bowman loved photography and learned to improve his skills by taking on some professional jobs as wedding photographer. Many of his friends were at marriageable age and it wasn’t for long that Andy found him at every possible wedding in his surrounding, taking shots of brides and bridesmaids. Having focused solely on non-human photography before, Andy found it not surprising he wasn’t really into this new universe of shooting people. Little did he know at that time that it had very little to do with people, but more with sexuality. It was at this time, when all his friends were getting ready to go to the altar, that the penny finally dropped for Andy and he discovered his homosexuality. And with that a renewed interest in portrait photography.

At first Andy lost interest in photography. Maybe he shot too many brides. Or maybe he was just too busy discovering his newly found sexuality. Whatever it was, it kept him from blowing up his bathroom sink with ilford cibachrome chemicals. That was until digital photography made its revolutionary entrance. Andrew decided to have a few pictures taken for his Gaydar profile and while being at it, came to the conclusion that, with all the experience he had, he could easily do this himself. For others that is of course. And so he set up a commercial Gaydar profile and started to shoot profile photos for guys which soon led to shooting portfolios with model releases. Andrew Bowman had found his niche and – surprisingly – he found it in portraiture. Not so surprisingly male portraiture.

Andrew Bowman’s career in male portraits and artistic nudes made a jump start with renowned models Adam Coussins and Anthony Brooking. This led to his well-known series of nude cricketers, which give a whole new dimension to this traditional British sport. Andrew Bowman can now look back upon an interesting path in photography, and an impressive portfolio of male nudes featuring some of the most beautiful and hot British and international models. Among them Nathan, a 25 years old male model from the north of England.

Manchester is a city known for many things. It's wet climate being one of them. Manchester is also the city where Nathan was born and raised, and where he probably first asked himself if being born in Manchester wasn't maybe a mistake. Nathan developed a great passion for traveling, ideally to warmer and sunnier places, presumably to get out of the rain. Nathan, who for a living does something industrial with gas pipes, is a model who does bot fitness and erotic, the latter becoming more a focus point for him in recent shoots. One of them was with Ron Lloyd for which Nathan few all the way to Hawaii. And right after that he posed for earlier mentioned Andrew Bowman, who, innocently, sprayed him wet during the session. Some people are apparently just meant to be wet. Andy informed us that the two of them are in process of planning a follow up shoot. According to the talented photographer, a shoot that will be even more hot and steamier. And, may we presume, more wet? –BM- -
