Let’s start things off with a nod to ONJ’s country origins. The album Don’t Stop Believing was her first to be recorded in Nashville and peaked at Number 7 on the U.S. Country charts. “Every Face Tells a Story” ended her streak of seven consecutive Number One hits on the Adult Contemporary chart (which started with 1974’s “I Honestly Love You”) it still cracked the Top 10.
Originally written by Michael Allison and Peter Sills for Newton-John’s friend Cliff Richard, the song originally had lyrics about Jesus and religious. Don Black rewrote the lyrics completely for a more secular appeal.

Sources connected with the event tell us the charity concert is being held at the Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester … the same place Beyonce performed last July.
The concert will raise money for the victims and families of the terrorist bombing which took 22 lives and injured more than 50 others.

Olivia Newton-John Announces Her Cancer Has Returned

Pop icon Olivia Newton-John has put her North American tour on hold, announcing she is once again battling cancer.
The 68-year-old singer shared the news in a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, saying doctors had diagnosed her with breast cancer that had metastasized to the sacrum.
Newton-John had originally postponed the first half of the tour because of severe back pain, which she presumed to be sciatica. Tests later revealed that it was actually cancer that had spread to her lower back.
In addition to natural therapies, the Grammy Award-winning singer will be treated with a “short course of photo radiation therapy,” which she’s confident will have her back on stage “later in the year, better than ever.”
“I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia,” said Newton-John in the statement.
Since the news of her diagnosis broke, many celebrities have come out with well wishes for the singer, including fellow cancer survivor Kylie Minogue and RuPaul.

The Australian icon has been touring her new album LIV ON, which is a deeply personal collection of songs detailing various struggles she’s faced, including her 1992 battle with breast cancer and the loss of her sister Rona to brain cancer in 2013.

TMZ shared the photo of Griffin, shot by photographer Tyler Shields.
Joking about the image, Griffin apparently said “that she and Tyler would need to move to Mexico once the pics got released.”

Griffin on Tuesday issued an apology after widespread backlash from across the political spectrum.
"I'm a comic. I crossed the line – I move the line and then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people, it wasn't funny, I get it," she said in a video posted to Twitter.
"I've made a lot of mistakes in my career, I'll continue," Griffin, 56, continued.
"I asked your forgiveness. Taking down the image, gonna ask the photographer to take down the image and I beg for your forgiveness. I went too far, I made a mistake and I was wrong."
Griffin posed for photographer Tyler Shields for the photo, which was first published by TMZ. The comedian had defended the image on Twitter earlier Tuesday, saying she was "mocking the Mocker in Chief" and did not "condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone."

UK’s Theresa May Visits Homophobic Church Amid Election Campaign

British Prime Minister Theresa May drew criticism from LGBTQ activists for staging a high-profile electoral visit last Sunday to a north London church notorious for its homophobic views.
The Brent Cross-based Jesus House has often waded into the debate against marriage equality and LGBTQ equality, and is led by Pastor Agu Irawku, who once complained in a letter to The Telegraph that “The [Sexual Orientation] Regulations force Christians in churches, businesses, charities and informal associations to accept and even promote the idea that homosexuality is equal to heterosexuality.”
An op-ed published in The Independent Tuesday states:
Jesus House is, at its core, a fundamentalist institution, and promotes what many would consider to be extreme views on subjects such as sexuality and abortion.. . . Troublingly, the website for Jesus House on at least one occasion draws an equivalence between homosexuality and beastiality (sic). Anyone filling out the “Men’s Ministry Survey” is asked the following question: “Have you ever experimented with homosexuality or any other alternative sexuality (bisexual, transgender, beastiality [sic])?”It has in the past been alleged that the church has been involved also with the exorcisms of gay people, although this claim was hotly refuted at the time by the Evangelical Alliance. In the context of the various other pieces of evidence, though, it doesn’t seem a particularly radical notion.What is so deeply wrong, in this case, is the fact that Theresa May and by association the Conservative Party, are deliberately aligning themselves with and thus actively promoting an organization that promotes hatred, homophobia and misogyny born of religious fundamentalism and masquerading as religious freedom. We should not underestimate the insidious nature of fundamentalist religion, and when our politicians fail to challenge it, we in turn must challenge our politicians.
May has herself been no friend to the LGBTQ community, as The Canary points out:
The Conservative leader has a poor history when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights. She has voted against equality legislation and adoption by same-sex couples. Her approach to LGBTQ+ equality in the UK has softened since 2010. But the treatment of LGBTQ+ immigrants and asylum seekers grew notably worse on her watch.May could have visited any number of religious houses in the UK to extend her hand to faith communities. But her visit to this particular church suggests she is sending signals to hardline evangelicals in the UK, at the cost of the LGBTQ+ community. And the Conservative manifesto doesn’t mention the LGBTQ+ community once.
The United Kingdom will hold a general election on June 8.

Details on how the withdrawal will be executed are being worked out by a small team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. They’re deciding on whether to initiate a full, formal withdrawal — which could take 3 years — or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty, which would be faster but more extreme.
The U.S. would join Nicaragua and Syria in not joining the accord.
