Cinematic Classic “Showgirls” Restored And Returning To Theaters

Nomi Malone is back!
From: NewNewNext
It’s been 21 years since Showgirls first thrusted onto the screens and became a cult classic, and now the erotic drama is finally getting the restoration it so rightly deserves.

Pathe Films has remastered the Elizabeth Berkley vehicle and is re-releasing it in theaters-but sadly only in France.

“I don’t think that it’s a movie that could ever be made anymore. Ever,” director Paul Verhoeven told Rolling Stone last year for the film’s 20th anniversary. “Because nudity is more taboo than ever in the United States. You see these movies and the sex scenes are reduced to a couple of dissolves where you see a hand on a back, but there are really no sex scenes in American movies anymore. There are exceptions, of course. But not many.”

Verhoeven stands by the film, calling it, “the most elegant movie I’ve ever done” and says it is more “anti-erotic than erotic.” After Showgirls Verhoeven went onto direct other panned movies like Starship Troopers and Hollow Man.

The new 4K scan remastered version will hit theaters and Blu-ray on September 14 in France, and hopefully a U.S. release will follow. Watch the NSFW trailer for the re-release below:

Channing Tatum To Star As Mermaid In Gender-Flip Remake Of “Splash”

Jillian Bell is set to tackle the Tom Hanks role in the upcoming film.
From: NewNowNext
The Tom Hanks classic Splash is the latest film to be getting a Hollywood remake, but this one comes with a twist.

Channing Tatum is set to play the mermaid character that was first made famous by Daryl Hannah in the 1984 original, while WorkaholicsJillian Bell will take on the Tom Hanks role.

Imagine partners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are also returning to the Disney project, after having helped write and direct the first movie 32 years ago.

The original starred Hanks as a man who reunites with the mermaid who saved him from drowning as a boy, eventually falling in love with her.

Bell, who previously worked with Tatum on 22 Jump Street, was reportedly the first to pitch the idea for the gender-swapped remake.

The project is said to still be in the very early stages of development, but we’ll definitely be waiting for our first glimpse of Tatum splashing around in nothing but a pair of fins in the near future.

Celine Dion Reaches Out To African Teen Who Sounds Just Like Her

"Your talent is as big as your voice. May all your dreams come true."
From: NewNowNext
A teenage Gabonese boy has been dubbed “Teen Celine” after his stunning rendition of Celine Dion’s “The Power of Love” got the approval of the music icon herself.

Video of 17-year-old Samuel’s staircase cover of the iconic song in both English and French went viral over the weekend after his friend shared it online.

Samuel’s impressive cover racked up over 3.3 million views in less than a week and even caught the attention of music producers, who Mashable reports have already reached out to the teen prodigy to discuss a possible record deal.

“Where I live in Libreville, people recognize me on the street and want to say hello,” he said. “I absolutely do not know how to handle it.”

Samuel told the AFP he was “overwhelmed and very surprised” when Celine Dion took to Facebook and shared the video on her official fan page.

“Samuel, your talent is as big as your voice,” she wrote in both English and French. “I’m touched my songs have travelled all the way to you and hope we have the chance to meet one day. May all your dreams come true.”

“I wasn’t expecting that. I haven’t got a phone or a Facebook account, it was my brother who told me Celine had shared my video,” Samuel said. “I just hope that one day I can meet her for real.”

Cara Delevingne On Her Sexuality: “If People Want To Say I’m Gay, That’s Great”

The actress revealed she's completely in love with her girlfriend, St. Vincent.
From: NewNowNext
Cara Delevingne graces the cover of British Vogue this month and used the opportunity to open up about her relationship with another woman.

The 23-year-old is currently dating musician St. Vincent, and she told the magazine that she has fallen hard.

“I’m completely in love,” she said. “Before, I didn’t know what love was – real love. I didn’t understand the depth of it. I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. Whether that’s for yourself or for the world or your partner.”

The Suicide Squad star is joining a long list of celebs, including Nico Tortorella and Nyle DiMarco, who don’t identify as gay, or even bisexual, but simply consider themselves sexually fluid.

She also admits that the word “gay” holds a negative connotation for her, but she doesn’t mind being labeled that way.

“As a child, I used gay as a bad word, as in, ’that’s so gay.’ All my friends did,” says Delevingne. “I’m obviously in love, so if people want to say I’m gay, that’s great. But we’re all liquid – we change, we grow.”

Off The Base & the Farm: Hunter by Jude Cooper

'To me, redneck is a sense of self and a way of life.'
Gretchen Wilson

Redneck is most often used as an insult.  A derogatory term to describe someone, most often white, and generally not seen as not overly intellectual, who lives or comes from a rural area.   My definition is a fairly positive description... but,  as we all know, whenever a negative label is given for a group of people, it is usually used to belittle and demean the group on question.  If that wasn't the intent, there wouldn't be a need to label them.

Gretchen Wilson however, and maybe even more so, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, have taken back the word,   I love how Wilson especially, have used it to describe a spirit, a way of life free from some of the formalities so many of us let weigh down our lives.  Besides, there's a certain orange neck, and orange headed buffoon that has proved that humanity and intelligence is lacking in many urban and big city dwellers.

I was thrilled to discover the work of photographer Jude Cooper last month, and first featured his work in July with the blonde and beautiful Kaden. (Down The Rabbit Hole) I am equally pleased that Jude was also supportive of my sharing some of his shots of Hunter.

Hunter was a Navy sailor and Jude describes himself as lucky to have been able to shoot Hunter several times while he was in port. I guess my perception sort of stereotypes as well, but I love the dichotomy of the military men Jude has taken off the base to shoot and share.

Up until the last few years, the military has been seen by many as homophobic, and often for very good reasons. Thankfully, changes are happening and things, (like this sailor's homecoming) are occurring that no one would have thought possible just a few years ago.

I don't think it matters if you're from the city or the country in order to appreciate Hunter's many qualities and assets.  Hunter is a country boy on the outside, and the inside.  If you need any proof, just note that Jude managed to get every stitch of clothing off his incredibly hot body, except his hat... and his boots.

Alicia Silverstone On Making Gay-Porn Drama “King Cobra”: “It Was So Erotic”

The "Clueless" star recounts being turned on watching Christian Slater watch his on-screen boyfriend have sex.
From: NewNowNext
The intense gay sex scenes in James Franco’s new film, King Cobra, are apparently so hot that they had Alicia Silverstone turned on.

The Clueless actress appears in the film as the mother of porn star Sean Lockhart (a.k.a. Brent Corrigan), played by Garrett Clayton.

The movie recounts the real life murder of adult-movie producer Bryan Kocis (Christian Slater) at the hands of porn actors Harlow Cuadra (Keegan Allen) and Joseph Kerekes (James Franco), who wanted to make Lockhart their new star.

“I thought it was really sexy,” said Silverstone of her reaction to King Cobra’s aggressive sex scenes. “There’s a particular scene where Christian Slater is watching his young budding star audition for him. And watching him watch him is so erotic.”

Below, we talk to Silverstone and her King Cobra co-stars.

Ed Fury (born Edmund Holovchik on June 6, 1928), is an American former body builder and physique model who traveled to Italy to take advantage of the popularity of sword and sandal films. The fad, begun with 1957's Hercules, starring Steve Reeves, allowed him to star in several before their popularity waned.

What can I say about Chris Fountain. Recently he has been a hot topic on a few message boards and he certainly caught my eye. This Brit, best known for his role on Hollyoaks has an adorable face and delicious round behind. There were a lot of posts about him being a bit chunky, but he seems pretty perfect to me!
