Nick Denton
Derrence Washington

When Gawker founder Nick Denton married Derrence Washington in 2015, the vows spoke for themselves. "When I was about to get engaged to Derrence," Denton told Out, "a friend of mine gave me some advice — some advice from a person who’s been very influential in Derrence’s life: Beyoncé. If you like it, put a ring on it. I was a little bit nervous about the wedding, but I can say one thing: I had no anxiety, no hesitation, no thoughts, no sleepless nights. I wanted to be married. I wanted to be married to Derrence."

The 30 Worst Music Videos Of All Time

“Chinese Food”
Alison Gold

What hath Rebecca Black wrought? Or more to the point, Patrice Wilson. Patrice is the “mastermind” behind all of these terrible amateur songs from pre-teen girls. “Chinese Food” isn’t as bad musically as “Friday,” (but that can be debated) but the video is all kinds of wrong. From the opening line “I go clubbing” (Really, you’re like 10 years old), everything about this is cringeworthy.

What the hell is up with the “make it rain” strip club hand motion when she sings “chow mein?” And don’t get me started on the Japanese imagery. But the worst part is when Patrice Wilson himself shows up halfway through as the “panda.” It’s just … indescribable.

But the most inexplicable thing about this monstrosity? It actually hit the Hot 100, peaking at #29. That says something for the state of music today.

Drag Race is an answer on Jeopardy!

On an episode in March 2015, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was the answer to a $200 question in the category “TV Abbreviations.”

Astonishingly, none of the contestants got it right!

Jeopardy has made a few nods to gay culture in recent years, including this shady clue from 2014: “One term for talking trash about someone is ’throwing’ this, like a big elm tree might do.”

Last January, the show asked, “Some opponents of same-sex marriage say, ’hey, gay folks, how about these? Wouldn’t these be good enough?'”

The $800 answer, was, of course, “civil unions.” (And, no, they would not.)

And though not official, the Gay Jeopardy! twitter feed is always good for a laugh.
