General George S. Patton, Jr.
Patton
George Campbell Scott (October 18, 1927 – September 22, 1999) was an American stage and film actor, director, and producer. He was best known for his stage work, as well as his portrayal of General George S. Patton in the film Patton, as General Buck Turgidson in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, and as Ebenezer Scrooge in Clive Donner's adaptation of A Christmas Carol. He was the first actor to refuse the Academy Award for Best Actor. He had already warned the Academy beforehand that if he won, he would refuse the award on the philosophical grounds that every great dramatic performance was unique and could not be compared to others.

Original run
July 5, 1970 – 2005
Evening at Pops was an American concert television series produced by WGBH-TV. It was one of the longest-running programs on PBS. The program was a public television version of a variety show, performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra. It was taped at Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts.

Most shows featured a guest star, usually a well known singer or musician, most commonly within popular music or sometimes rock, folk, jazz or other musical genres. After one or two opening numbers by the Pops, the guest would be brought onstage. Usually the guest would sing several their own hits or songs associated with them, with accompaniment by the Pops. After concluding their set, the guest artist would leave the stage, and the Pops would play one or two closing numbers. The three men who served as Boston Pops Conductor during the show's run -- Arthur Fiedler (1970–79), John Williams (1979–95) and Keith Lockhart (1996–2005) -- appeared. Gene Galusha provided narration and announced most of the pieces played.
The long-running show ended after its 2004-2005 season because the Pops' parent organization, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, did not want to continue funding the nearly $1 million production cost of each episode.

The Hottest Men in Baseball 2013

Justin Verlander

Ability: 4 bats
Looks: 3 bats
Age 30
Statistically the best pitcher in baseball, Verlander has won almost every award and broken virtually every record in MLB pitching. He was Rookie of the Year, pitched the first-ever no-hitter at Comerica Park, won the CY Young Award, and was named the American League’s most valuable player. He’s the only pitcher to win Rookie of the Year, start in a World Series game, toss a no-hitter and be in an All-Star game in his first two full seasons. Thanks to a lucrative multi-year contact with the Detroit Tigers (the only team he’s ever played for) Verlander is the highest-paid pitcher in baseball.

He says he’s a beautician

As far as we’re concerned Bowie is a GOD! After all he invented Ziggy Stardust, The Spiders from Mars, and this weirdo that does weird stuff with your hair. Hairy underwear from Bowie and fur pajamas from The Talking heads confirms it: NYC in the 70′s and 80′s was weird.

The Rebellion of Miss Lucy Ann Lobdell
by
William Klaber
In the mood for some great historical fiction? William Klaber’s debut novel should satisfy your itch. The story is a fictional retelling of the life of Lucy Lobdell, an American woman who, in 1855, cut her hair, changed clothes, started living her life as a man. She was eventually arrested and put on trial for the crime of wearing men’s clothes. The Rebellion of Miss Lucy Ann Lobdell is a fascinating story about gender identity and inequality in 19th century America.

Marion Mitchell Morrison (born Marion Robert Morrison; May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979), better known by his stage name John Wayne, was an American film actor, director and producer. An Academy Award-winner, Wayne was among the top box office draws for three decades. An enduring American icon, he epitomized rugged masculinity and is famous for his demeanor, including his distinctive calm voice, walk, and height.

Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa but his family relocated to the greater Los Angeles area when he was four years old. He found work at local film studios when he lost his football scholarship to USC as a result of a bodysurfing accident. Initially working for the Fox Film Corporation, he mostly appeared in small bit parts. His first leading role came in the widescreen epic The Big Trail (1930), which led to leading roles in numerous films throughout the 1930s, many of them in the western genre. His career rose to further heights in 1939, with John Ford's Stagecoach making him an instant superstar. Wayne would go on to star in 142 pictures, primarily typecast in Western films.

Among his better-known later films are The Quiet Man (1952), in which he is an Irish-American in love with a fiery spinster played by Maureen O'Hara; The Searchers (1956), in which he plays a Civil War veteran whose young niece (Natalie Wood) is abducted by a tribe of Comanches in an Indian raid; Rio Bravo (1959), playing a sheriff with Dean Martin; The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), portraying a rancher competing with Eastern lawyer (James Stewart) for a woman's hand in marriage; True Grit (1969), as a humorous U.S. Marshal who sets out to avenge a man's death in the role that won Wayne his Academy Award; and The Shootist (1976), his final screen performance, in which he plays an aging gunfighter battling cancer.

Wayne moved to Orange County, California in the 1960s, and was a prominent Republican in Hollywood, supporting anti-communist positions. He died of stomach cancer in 1979. In June 1999, the American Film Institute named Wayne 13th among the Greatest Male Screen Legends of All Time.

The Road Runner Show was an animated anthology series which compiled theatrical Wile E. Coyote and The Road Runner cartoons from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, which were produced by Warner Bros. Cartoons between 1948 and 1966. Several of the shorts, especially the ones produced from 1965 onward, were produced specifically for television by Format Films after Warner Bros. closed their animation studio. The Road Runner Show ran for two seasons on CBS (1966–68), and then on ABC for two seasons (1971–73). There were two Road Runner/Coyote cartoons during each episode, with another WB animated character(s) in the middle segment (usually Tweety and Sylvester).

CBS combined The Road Runner Show with The Bugs Bunny Show in 1968. The Road Runner and the Coyote more often shared at least an hour with Bugs Bunny on CBS during the late-1960s through the mid-1980s to the early-1990s.

The theme song was written and performed by Barbara Cameron, in 1999 was covered by the Mexican band Chicos de Barrio.
