25 Great Gay Moments In Music

From: Billboard
Synth-Pop Gets Political

Bronski Beat wasn't the only LGBT-friendly synth-pop group of the '80s. But back when bands like Pet Shop Boys and Erasure were only making veiled references to their sexualities, falsetto vocalist Jimmy Sommerville and co. were adorning their album covers with pink triangles and writing political, gay-empowering club tunes that left no room for misinterpretation. 1984's "Smalltown Boy" was trio's most celebrated hit, and the song's video was one of the first of any genre to address the issue of violence against gays. -- M. Brazil Themed Underwear Will Bring You World Cup Fever!

From: The Underwear Expert
World Cup starts on June 12th – wait a minute, that’s NOW! How had we not realized? It’s not like we've been holed up in our offices scouring the Internet for the hottest new underwear trends with such commitment that we… oh, wait.

Well, luckily for us (and you) there is a trend sweeping the world and the underwear scene at this very moment. It’s (you guessed it) Brazil Themed Underwear. There are so many great greens and yellow combos out there we've been screaming “Olé, olé olé olé, olé, olé!” And our office neighbors are none too pleased.

We've managed to put together quite the package of Brazil themed underwear for you and your package. Whether you are flying down to Rio, or getting comfy on your couch with the TV volume on high you’ll definitely want to get fitted for the whole 120 yards.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Step 1: Socks! Every footballer knows that without a good pair the game is over. The Happy Socks Green Optic Socks ($12) are the perfect shade of green, and with yellow stitching in a mind blowing pattern you’re sure to impress Pelé himself.

Step 2: Underwear. Playing soccer or watching it doesn't matter. Both are quite the activity. And we've got some great Brazil themed underwear for you to choose from.  If you’re looking for support check out the Garcon Model Trunks ($34), the Muchachomalo Brazil 2-pack (€29.95), the Calvin Klein Limited Edition Global Trunk ($25.50),  the Rounderbum Anatomic World Cup Collection ($22.50), or the Papi Cotton Stretch Brazil trunks ($28). All of these football-ready, mid-to-long leg selections will guarantee you stay tucked in whether you just bicycle kicked the game-winner or got a red card for shouting obscenities at your television. If you want support but don’t want all that fabric, then go with the Baskit Ribbed Jock ($18) or the Mensuas Brazil Flag Boxer Briefs ($16.28). Wearing them will help you avoid the personally tropical temperatures when you get overheated from playing or cheering.

Step 3: Bathing Suit. If you’re in Rio, you’re hitting the beach. Heck, even if you’re in you’re apartment you’ll be so worked up you’ll need to hit the pool. Either way, you need a bathing suit. Slip into the Clever Brasil Swim Brief ($46.50), throw on a swim cap from Funky Trunks ($70), and of course the Brazil Surf String Tank ($55) from LASC and you’re good to go!

World Cup only comes around once every four years so you better get geared up with the best Brazil themed underwear and root, root, root for your country’s team!

PREPARE YOUR TAINT FOR A VERY TINGLY FEELING.

From: Manhunt Daily
“Too good to be true!” That’s what I had to keep repeating to myself when I first laid eyes on the excruciatingly handsome South African Manhunt member known as GM1986. He looks a bit like the love child of Ryan Kwanten and Ben Foden with the physique of, well, someone you want to pin you down and do unspeakable things to your butt. (Not to be crude! I was trying to think of a sexy male athlete for that comparison, but I got distracted by the tingly feeling in my taint.)

After doing a bit of mildly creepy research, I discovered that GM1986 competed in the 2014 Mr. Gay South Africa competition to raise awareness and help provide a voice for victims of corrective rape. This passion for an important cause made me weak in the knees, and the feeling only grew stronger when I watched this video and heard his accent.

Having heard all this, you’re probably wondering why GM1986 has never been featured as the Manhunt Man of The Week. Well, I’ll have you know that we definitely reached out to him, and even though he responded with enthusiasm, he interview never came together due to my own flakiness… Admittedly, this might be for the best! Because it would be much more accurate to refer to him as the Manhunt Man of My Dreams. I am one-hundred percent smitten.

NYT: Obama to Extend Array of Marriage Benefits to Gay Couples

It just keeps getting better and better ...

NYT reports:

The federal government on Friday will extend a wide range of marriage benefits to same-sex couples, making good on a promise by President Obama after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act last year. On Friday, the Department of Labor will clarify that federal employees will be able to take leave from their jobs to care for a same-sex spouse, something that has long been limited to heterosexual married couples. After decades of blocking gay married couples from receiving the same benefits as their heterosexual counterparts, most federal agencies are now treating married couples alike, regardless of gender. The action is important, officials said, because of differences in how states treat same-sex marriage. Without the regulatory changes, gay couples could be blocked from receiving federal benefits in states that do not recognize their marriages. Same-sex marriage is legal in 19 states and the District of Columbia.
