ALEXANDRE CK'S NEXT DOOR BOYS

"NEXT TIME WHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR LOCAL GYM, HAVE A LOOK AROUND YOU. YOU ARE PROBABLY SURROUNDED BY SOME VERY FIT, GOOD-LOOKING GUYS. NOW THE CHANCES THAT ONE OF THEM IS A PROFESSIONAL MODEL ARE SMALL. BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW HOW MANY OF THEM ACTUALLY DID STAND IN FRONT OF A CAMERA AT LAST ONCE OR TWICE.

When Alexandre CK was younger he himself worked as model and actor, and is therefor quite familiar with the world of spotlight and flash light. Now, in his early forties, Alexandre changed place and tries his luck behind the camera instead of in front. Not surprisingly so as Alexandre has been fascinated by photography ever since he can remember. As a young boy he was given his first camera by his parents and he has been on a quest for beauty around him since then.

Alexandre CK shoots beauty in every sense of the word. Amazing landscapes, scenes in the streets of the city that is all around him, and people. “I often find I stumble upon beauty when meeting guys by coincident in the street,” says Alexandre. “It’s an earthly, pure beauty. Very sensual. It is my goal to capture that beauty in their daily activities.” Alexandre CK likes smiling and charming daces, strong bodies and natural beauty. And so he chooses his men as they come. Real boy, all amateurs. They are the boys next door, real guys with their feelings and thoughts that took a moment in their lives to pose in front of Alexandre’s camera. They are the guys you can see in the gym and meet in the street

Alexandre CK’s work is simple and straightforward. Often colorful and always with strong light contrast. The foundation for this most likely lies in the fact he spent his childhood years in North Africa, surrounded by scents, colors and sun. Since that time he has always cherished colorful scenery and photographed joy and happiness. On his professional website you will find three categories. Sexy, which doesn't need much explanation. Art, which introduces more conceptual and created colorful scenes. And A Day, which follows his subjects during their daily activities. Asides from that Alexandre CK also has a Facebook fan page where he introduces us on regular base to new faces and bodies, both on photo and video. –BM-

Alex Minsky

A former Marine, Minsky lost part of his right leg to a roadside bomb while fighting in Afghanistan in 2009. The explosion left the now 24-year-old decorated veteran in a coma for 47 days as he recovered from traumatic brain injuries and severe burns sustained in the bombing.

But this Purple Heart recipient would quickly prove that his amputation didn't have to be a handicap. He started pumping iron again as a healthy outlet for his frustration. A photographer, Tom Cullis, happened across Minsky mid-workout one day and asked if he ever considered a modeling career. Alex is now a top underwear model.
