Rep. Schiff: ‘Circumstantial Evidence of Collusion’ Between Trump Campaign, Russia

From: NBC News
Despite denials from some top intelligence officials that there was any evidence of collusion between associates of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russian operatives while Moscow tried to interfere with the 2016 election, Rep. Adam Schiff on Sunday defended the House Intelligence Committee continuing to look into the matter.

Two weeks ago on "Meet The Press," James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence under President Obama, denied that any evidence of such collusion existed while he oversaw the work of U.S. intelligence agencies. The Trump administration has also reiterated those denials.

But this Sunday on "Meet The Press," Schiff, D-Calif., told host Chuck Todd, "I was surprised to see Director Clapper say that because I don't think you can make that claim categorically as he did. I would characterize it this way at the outset of the investigation: There is circumstantial evidence of collusion. There is direct evidence, I think, of deception and that's where we begin the investigation."

Schiff is the ranking Democratic member on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

"There is certainly enough for us to conduct an investigation," he added. "The American people have a right to know and in order to defend ourselves, we need to know whether the circumstantial evidence of collusion and direct evidence of deception is indicative of more."

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, seemed to contradict this, repeating on Fox News Sunday that he hasn't seen any evidence of collusion between Russians and Trump associates.

"I'll give you a very simple answer: 'No,'" he said. "Up to speed on everything I have up to this morning, there's no evidence of collusion."

On Monday, the House Intelligence Committee will hold a hearing on Russian attempts to interfere with the 2016 election. Schiff noted that the committee's inquiry has a broad scope examining various techniques and methods Russia used.

"I think people need to understand we are in a global war of ideas," Schiff said. "It's not communism versus capitalism but it is authoritarianism versus democracy and Putin is very much at the vanguard of that autocratic movement, and that ought to concern all of us."

The congressman has been briefed on matters related to Trump's still-unsubstantiated accusation that former President Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower before the election. The White House has not offered any evidence to support this claim, first tweeted by Trump two weeks ago, and instead has asked Congress to investigate. A spokesperson for President Obama roundly rejected the idea.

Schiff on Sunday said there was still no evidence to support Trump's accusation, responding to comments made by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, in an earlier interview on "Meet the Press."

Collins said she wanted to "get to the bottom of this before saying what should be done," adding, "I don't know the basis for President Trump's assertion. And that's what I wish he would explain to us on the Intelligence Committee and to the American people. And I do believe he owes us that explanation."

Schiff countered, "Once again, no evidence to support the president's claim that he was wiretapped by his predecessor. And you know what, I have a lot of respect for Susan Collins but I have to differ with her on this — 'We need to get to the bottom of this.' We are at the bottom. There is nothing at the bottom."

"I hope that we can put an end to this wild goose chase because what the president said was just patently false, and the wrecking ball it created now has banged into our British allies and our German allies," Schiff added. "It's continuing to grow in terms of damage and he needs to put an end to this."

When Collins was asked by Chuck Todd whether or not she can take the president at his word, she responded, "Yes."

"I mean, do I think the president gets everything right? No," she continued. "But I want President Trump, just as I've wanted every other president, to be successful. Because he is America's president. Now that doesn't mean that I support his policies, and it doesn't mean that I'm going to be with him when I think he's wrong, or has misstated what the facts are.

New Public Sculpture Honors LGBTQ Champions

From: Broadway World
The City of North Miami unveiled a new sculpture installation on Saturday, March 4th, that was commissioned by the municipality to "Celebrate the legacy of Miami-Dade County's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer champions and the historic milestones of the LGBTQ community," said Scott Galvin, the Councilman for the City of North Miami who spearheaded this project. The artwork, created by Miami artist Alan Gutierrez, will remain permanently installed at Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park, located at 1725 NE 135th Street in North Miami.

This is the first time a permanent public art installation in Miami-Dade County honors the LGBTQ community in this manner. The sculpture includes a time-line that comes full circle from 1977-2017: starting with Ruth Shack's historic championing of gay rights in 1977, to forty years later when the made-in-Miami film Moonlight is the first LGBTQ film ever to win the Oscar for Best Motion Picture, as well as being the first with an all-black cast. Moonlight was directed and written by Miamians Barry Jenkins and Tarell Alvin McCraney.

"The project was originally inspired by the June 2016 tragedy at Orlando's Pulse nightclub," said Councilman Galvin, who has served in public office for 18 years (making Galvin one of the longest-serving openly gay elected officials in the United States). "Rather than be a somber memorial to those victims, North Miami's sculpture celebrates LGBTQ lives that inspire all of us, and acknowledges the legacy of LGBTQ milestones in Miami-Dade County's history," adds Galvin.

This project was established through the City of North Miami's Art in Public Places program and is funded by the City of North Miami's Council District 1 budget. The process took nine months, and began in the summer of 2016 when Councilman Galvin expressed the idea to commemorate the tragedy at Orlando's Pulse nightclub.

A call-to-artists was published by the City of North Miami last September, and more than thirty artists responded to the call with their submissions. The winning artwork was selected by a committee of cultural leaders and experts, and the $30,000 award for production of the artwork was announced last November.

"The unveiling event was beyond poignant and moving in ways I didn't expect," said the artist Alan Gutierrez. "I knew I was creating something that would be a part of a community, but I didn't anticipate its place in a movement - a movement guided by pioneers on the new frontiers of love and acceptance."

"I decided to apply a bruise to my face for the unveiling ceremony, something I've done performatively before," adds Alan Gutierrez.

"I used some of the same colors to apply this bruise that are colors represented in the sculpture, to show the practical application of the colors. The idea is that you can use a tool, such as stage makeup, to emulate an emotive experience. I can create a bruise - which elicits a response. And this same technique can be used to alter or create new identities, in however fluid manner as one desires. It's very basic, but it really can change your life," said Alan Gutierrez.

Pioneers of the LGBTQ movement are featured in a plaque that stands alongside the artwork installation, serving as a time-line of Miami-Dade County's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer history.

City of North Miami Councilman Scott Galvin passionately recognized each honoree, starting with Ruth Shack: "We start with the lightning rod, the person who helped launch the LGBTQ movement across the United States," said Councilman Galvin.

"It started here in Miami-Dade County in 1977 when Ruth Shack as a County Commissioner made the historic motion to amend the human-rights ordinance to include gay people. She made history 40 years ago not only for Miami-Dade County, but also setting into motion the force of a national movement that could not, would not - and will not - be stopped," added Galvin.

Ruth Shack's history-making battle for LGBTQ rights became national headline news in the 1970s when Anita Bryant (the singer and spokeswoman for Florida orange juice) led a controversial voter referendum campaign to overturn Shack's ordinance. It would take 21 years for Miami-Dade County to restore these LGBTQ protections again.

"I am honored," said Ruth Shack. "When we started this pursuit 40 years ago, and we tried to get the gay community together, there was no such thing. Because you risked your life, your family reputation and your job if you acknowledged the fact openly that you're gay. And we see so many of the pioneers who had the courage to come forward here today. It's so inspiring, so splendid. But we still have so much more work to do."

Councilman Galvin also introduced some of the other LGBTQ icons honored by the City of North Miami at the unveiling, including:

  • Florida State Rep. Elaine Gordon (the park where the installation is located is named after Gordon). She was an early proponent of legislation against hate crimes, and was an early champion of human rights (her children and grandchildren accepted the award on behalf of Rep. Gordon)
  • Former Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Victoria Sigler, the first openly LGBTQ political figure to win judicial office in the state of Florida
  • Miami-Dade Circuit Judge David Young, who came out publicly in 1994 while serving on the county court
  • Mark King Leban, the first openly gay man appointed a Dade County court judge
  • Former North Miami Mayor Kevin Burns, the first openly gay mayor in Miami-Dade County
  • North Miami resident Martin Gill, an openly gay man who in 2010 won the right to become an adoptive parent, effectively ending Florida's 33-year ban on gay adoption
  • Florida State Rep. David Richardson, who in 2012 became Florida's first openly gay member in its House or Senate
  • SAVE, the LGBTQ-rights group that led the drive to restore the Miami-Dade human-rights ordinance in 1998, years after the battle between Anita Bryant and LGBTQ activists.

My Sunday Is Perfect Now I Have Leo Ryan Burke To Look At

From: Gay Body Blog
Guys, this is Leo Ryan Burke, and he’s about to invade your dreams and fantasies on a level you likely haven’t seen before.

Okay, that was an assumption on my part, but I’m pretty certain that a lot of you guys are going to be spending a little time thinking dirty thoughts about this incredibly handsome man.

From what I gather he goes by more than one name. First of all I found him under the name Leo Ryan Burke, then just Ryan Burke, then Ryan Wright. So, I don’t really know what I should be calling him in this post.

Whatever he wants to call himself I really don’t care, as long as we get to enjoy that gorgeous face, his incredibly fit body, and that very tempting cock bulge he seems to enjoy showing off and teasing us with.

Photographers obviously know what they’re getting with this stunning muscled hunk. Everything I have seen him in seems to focus on the whole package – emphasis on the package.

Are there any nudes out there? I get the feeling there might be, that perhaps he’s appeared naked under a different name. Some of the shots I’ve seen of him are verging on that.

Enjoy, leave a comment, share any info you might have on him. Have a lovely Sunday.

IRELAND’S ASHFORD CASTLE TURNS GREEN FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY

From: Bear World
The historic Ashford Castle in County Mayo in the west of Ireland is among the world’s most iconic buildings turned green for St. Patrick’s Day Friday, March 17 – a first for the 800-year-old property.

Now in its eighth year, the global initiative was started by Tourism Ireland to encourage some of the world’s most renowned landmarks, buildings and statues to light up in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day internationally. Ashford Castle stands in good company with other landmarks being illuminated in green this year, including Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro; the London Eye; the Empire State Building and World Trade Center in New York; Niagara Falls and the Great Wall of China.

Following a three-year restoration of the building by owners Red Carnation Hotels, the property reopened in April 2015 with 83 elegantly designed guest rooms all with state-of-the-art amenities, hand-picked antiques, and sumptuous linens. It is renowned for a range of country sports, including an equestrian center, fly fishing, clay target shooting, kayaking, zip lining, tennis, an exclusive nine-hole golf course and Ireland’s first school of falconry.

Facilities also include a spa, cinema, billiards room, and several dining rooms and bars. Once home to the Guinness family for more than 100 years, the five-star Ashford Castle and its 350-acre estate offers guests the ultimate fairy tale escape, where guests can truly live like kings and queens.

General Manager, Mr. Niall Rochford, commented, “We are honored to be among the world’s iconic buildings to turn green this St. Patrick’s Day. Ashford Castle is steeped in history, from its Norman origins to the days of Lord and Lady Ardilaun of the Guinness family. We are delighted to contribute to Ireland’s thriving tourism industry and in particular, helping to grow visitor numbers to the West of Ireland. This is the first year for the Castle to turn green and we hope this will become an annual tradition.”

Martin Valko

Serkej Petronov

Martin Valko, a Bel Ami superstar, was in the seminal classics Lukas' Story (1995) and The Plowboys (1995). With a perfect body (and the face to back it up), he was gloriously versatile and, as with most Bel Ami lads, exuded an innocent sexuality that reminded me of Germany before WWII. Unfortunately, he was in a terrible car accident in '97 (he survived and is rumored to be fine now) and faded from view.
