“America’s Next Top Model” Announces New Host, New Judges, New Home On VH1

You want Rita Ora on top?
From: NewNowNext
America’s Next Top Model will make its triumphant return to TV and move to VH1 this fall, but not before some major shakeups including new rules, a new formula, and a brand new cast of judges.

Executive producer Tyra Banks told USA Today that the format of the show will change to better reflect the new kind of “top model” she’s looking for — a model and social media star hybrid.

“It’s no longer just about having the highest cheekbones and best pout and the best hair,” said Banks.

“My goal is to really get into these girls’ heads that I’m not looking for some successful model and I’m not looking for some social-media star. I’m looking for both. I’m looking for a hybrid, because that’s where the world is.”

Banks said she’ll only make “a couple of appearances” on the show, passing the hosting gig on to 25-year-old pop star Rita Ora.

Said Ora: “The approach I wanted to have as a host and judge to the girls is what my career stands for at this moment in time, which is being a businesswoman and being able to do multiple things at the same time, whether it’s music or shooting (magazine covers) and being in movies and designing clothes.”

The new panel of judges will also include model Ashley Graham, Paper magazine CCO Drew Elliott, and celebrity stylist Law Roach.

The show is reportedly a week into production and already finished with the first elimination.

Its move to VH1 will technically mark the franchise’s 23rd cycle. Before the series’ revival was announced, sexually fluid and deaf model Nyle DiMarco was crowned the series finale winner.

Big Brother Update: July 22, 2008

From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
Before my update, a couple of Jesse Godderz skin shots. Come on, you knew he was too vain not to have some out there!!!

Well it looks like Steven Daigle is toast! I hate to see him go, nice guy and fun at times to watch.

Some are saying Steven is one of the best gay role models BB has had, but I can think of another...

I loved Will Wikle from Big Brother 5. I think he was a great role model, and he was funny and cute as hell! Will continues to work in TV and is one of the most likable and engaging personalities BB has had.

Kate McKinnon’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg Stops By RNC With A Special Message For Trump

  • "His mind is sleeping with the fishes, but it's waking up to a Ginsburn!"

From: NewNowNext
SNL star Kate McKinnon reprised her hilarious impression of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg at a special Weekend Update segment filmed at this week’s Republican National Convention.

McKinnon’s notorious RBG stopped by the Weekend Update desk to speak with host Colin Jost about her Twitter spat with Donald Trump in which she called the candidate a “faker” and he retorted that her mind was “shot.”

“Look, if my mind is shot,” McKinnon begins, “then Donald Trump’s mind is shot, stabbed, strangled, put in a vat of wet cement and dumped in the Gowanus Canal.”

“His mind is sleeping with the fishes,” she continued, “but it’s waking up to a Ginsburn.”

Gay Man Set On Fire In Horrific Homophobic Attack

"Officers are treating this as a homophobic hate crime."
From: NewNowNext
A 20-year-old gay man was sprayed with an aerosol can and lit on fire in a horrific anti-gay attack in Stockton, England early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the victim was confronted by a group of four men who interrogated him about his sexual orientation as he walked past the grounds of Holy Trinity Church around 3am.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said the victim “ignored them and continued onto Parliament Street,” where “one of the men then approached him from behind and sprayed an aerosol can at the victim’s legs which he then set alight, causing burns to the victim’s calves.”

The victim’s legs were so seriously burned that they required skin grafts, which he received at the North Tees University Hospital.

“Officers are treating this as a homophobic hate crime,” the spokeswoman added, “and are asking anyone with information to come forward and call police on 101.”

Police are still searching for the assailants, who retreated toward Yarm Lane following the attack.

The man who lit the aerosol is described as “white, in his early 20s, of medium build and with short blonde hair.” He was shirtless and wearing only joggers.

In May, a gay man nearly lost his eyesight when he and his boyfriend were jumped by a gang of homophobes and brutally beaten in Brighton.

Two weeks later, Brighton police confirmed another gay man had his jaw broken in a brutal homophobic assault outside a seaside bar on Madeira Drive.
