Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

We all know U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia as the grumpy homophobic justice who was not at all pleased to see same-sex marriage become the law of the land in 2015. A preview of his anti-gay views can be seen in his dissent in Lawrence, where Scalia argued that moral objections to homosexuality were sufficient justification for criminalizing gay sex. “Many Americans do not want persons who openly engage in homosexual conduct as partners in their business, as scoutmasters for their children, as teachers in their children’s schools, or as boarders in their home,” he wrote. “They view this as protecting themselves and their families from a lifestyle that they believe to be immoral and destructive.”

Scalia also let his racist flag fly recently, when he basically implied that black people are stupid. Here is the full quote:

“There are…those who contend that it does not benefit African Americans to get them into the University of Texas where they do not do well, as opposed to having slower-track school where they do well. One of — one of the briefs pointed out that — that most of the — most of the black scientists in this country don’t come from schools like the University of Texas…They come from lesser schools where they do not feel that they’re – that they’re being pushed ahead in — in classes that are too — too fast for them…I’m just not impressed by the fact that — that the University of Texas may have fewer. Maybe it ought to have fewer. And maybe some — you know, when you take more, the number of blacks, really competent blacks admitted to lesser schools, turns out to be less. And — and I — I don’t think it — it — it stands to reason that it’s a good thing for the University of Texas to admit as many blacks as possible.”

Favorite Birthday Boy for December 31st:

Joe Dallesandro
I find myself turned off, and turned on at the same time by Joe Dallesandro, who turns 67 today. Not such a bad thing...

Here is Joe in Trash, a movie I do actually like.

Muscles & Mountains:

Rob

First five images by Gordon Nebeker

'One thing that made working with these particular models joyful, was that they contributed many of the poses. Some of the best ideas came from the models who could be like enthusiastic puppies with a new toy.'

As 2015 comes to an end, so sadly does the Muscles & Mountains series. I thought ending with Rob was a great way to end the series. Rob is the only model of the three that I have not featured, and thought he deserved a bit of extra attention. Not only is Rob incredibly sexy, he also creates such beautiful poses and lines and acts as a anchor of strength in so many images from the series.

Rob had a successful modeling career in New York for many years, but has since settled into a full time job outside of the industry. Today, Rob models mostly for fun when he has time off from work. When opportunities come up, especially like whirlwind trips to Utah to shoot with Gordon, Mike and Mark, Rob loves to jump back in the game. The entire group gathered to celebrated Rob's 45th birthday during this years shoot.

Gordon describes Rob as a great model, and a great guy. Rob's keeps his incredible body in model ready shape with yoga, and you can see the influence of yoga in many of poses. What I love most about Rob's work, besides his spectacular butt, is his physical interactions with his surroundings. Whether with the rocks and tree's all around him, or his poses with Will and Joel, Rob's interactions and connections are intensely sensual and highly erotic.

A rainbow-filtered profile picture led to a Facebook showdown between a local business owner and a Tea Party activist. We’ll let you guess who the nasty party was.
Despina Kozidis, better known in La Crosse, WI, as Gracie of Gracie’s Gyros and Wraps, knows mixing business and politics isn’t always the best idea for attracting customers.
But Gracie, like countless other straight allies since June, had switched her profile picture to a rainbow filter to show her support for equality. What happened next was incredible.

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things
Creative impulses are a fascinating thing. With FH in it's 9th year, my compulsion to continue ebbs and flows each month, and in some cases, each day. But then... I see an image, I discover a new model, I find a photographer or artist whose imagery grabs my attention, and I am again excited to showcase the work.

I always love getting e-mails from artists, especially those artists that consistently contribute to the blog. Seeing that little attachment symbol, and knowing I am about to see new work, propels me to continue, even when I may not be feeling that inspired. Art rejuvenates, and I hope FH has provided you a little rejuvenation, inspiration and tons of stimulation over the last 12 months. A huge thank you as always, to all those who contribute images, art and stories, and have me looking forward to seeing what you're going to do next!

I have always enjoyed balloon imagery, maybe more than balloons themselves. When I was searching for some images for New Years, I came upon the work Ohio photographer DCurtis. DCurtis is also fascinated the balloon concept, and plans to focus more on the theme in the future. The black light images also have shades of New Year fireworks and streamers. I look forward to featuring more work from Douglas in 2016. For now, here are three of my favorite images, one from the balloon series and two from the black light set to celebrate the New Year.

U.S. Supreme Court Rules For Nationwide marriage equality

Friday, June 26, 2015
Same-sex couples won the right to marry nationwide as a divided Supreme Court handed a crowning victory to the LGBTQ rights movement, setting off a jubilant cascade of long-delayed weddings in states where they had been forbidden. “No longer may this liberty be denied,” said Justice Anthony Kennedy.
